Patta to open their first store in Lagos, Nigeria

The Amsterdam founded streetwear brand’s expansion into the African continent is another marker in the continued connection between the diasporas urban cultures.

Amsterdam founded streetwear brand have opened a store in Lagos, Nigeria. The announcement was made via their Instagram page where they invited shoppers to Lekki for a night of DJ sets from Uncle Bubu, Yosa, Kazeem & Weareallchemicals. This isn’t the first time Patta have made their footprint with the West African nation. In 2019 they collaborated with Lagos based brand WAFFLESNCREAM for a collaborative collection called “COLLECTIVE CAUSE” to raise funds for Lagos’ first skatepark. Nigeria’s impact on global culture has been growing and brands are clearly recognising that. From painter Slawn designing the 2023 BRIT Award to Burna Boy, Wizkid, Shallipopi, Rema and countless others dominating our airwaves - the influence is not going anywhere. As a brand that has always authentically immersed itself in the global community, we can’t wait to see how Patta’s footing in Lekki impacts their design process.
