SEE MY WORLD: Manchester, Lagos & Me

Check out this new short-film exploring cultural and political conditions for artists in Lagos and Manchester.

The West African diaspora continues to assert its presence in modern Britain and in recent times Nigeria has been at the forefront. The exploration the motherland's impact of Black British culture is usually zoomed in on London, but SEE MY WORLD: Manchester, Lagos & Me specifically touches on Lagos' relationship with the 0161. Visual artist and music producer Joshua Inyang of electronic duo Space Afrika,  multidisciplinary artist Papa Nii Akushey Quaye aka RenzNiro poet and performance artist Deborah Johnson, and musician and film-maker, Ayokunle Odunsi from Lagos all feature. Their contributions offer insight into how cultural exchange, creativity and Pan-Africanism keep both Lagos and Manchester at the forefront of innovation.
